Improving Site Structure in terms of SEO

1. Simple to understand Urls will convey content information easily.categories and filenames of the documents should be decriptive on the website,then your site will be organized and google will crawl your documents easily.Url should be friendly.

4.Parameter :- Data provided in the URL to specify a site's behavior.

5. ID(Session ID) :-Data provided for the idenifiction and /or behavior management of a user who is currently accessing a systm or network communications.us code.

6.301 Redirects :- An Http status code.Forces a site visitor to automatically jump to a specified URL.

7.Subdomain :- A type of domiorian used to identify a category that is smaller than a regular domain.

8.Root Directory :- Directory at the top of the structure of a tree.

9.The URL should be easy to understand for both users and search engines.

URLs with words that are relevant to websites content and structure are friendler for visitors of your website.

Avoid

1. Lenghty urls with unnessary parameters and session Ids

2. Dont use excessive keywords in url like :"hotels-goa-hotel.html

3.dont use urls like page1.html, page2.html

Directory structure :-

Directory structure should be simple.Dont make nested directories .

../dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4/dir5/dir6/page1.html

Directory name should be related to content of that website.

rel="canonical" link element is used when we dont want to redirect the webpages.and 2 pages has the same identicial content on both pages.

The navigation of a webpage is important in helping visitors quickly find the content they want.

Here I will discuss some basic aspects of search engine optimization.It is often about modifications on parts of your websites.when viewed individually,these changes are improvements,but when these are combines with other optimizations,you can see the impact on user experience and organic search results.It is about putting your site’s best foot forward when it comes to visibility in search engines,but your consumers are users not search engines.

SEO BASICS :-

1. Create unique, accurate page titles.It tells the search engine as well as users what the topic of a particular page is.It comes under <head> tag.

2. Avoid choosing a title not related to content.

3. Choose accurate and short title related to content.

4. Avoid lengthy title,google will show only a portion of that title.

5. Page titles are important aspects of search engines.

6. A Page Description is the summary of the webpage.it may be of 1 or 2 lines or a small paragraph.It is placed in <head> tag of html documents.

7. Merits of description meta tags :- Description tag is important because google use them as snippets for your pages.May be google choose to use a relevant section of your pages visible text as snippets if it does a good job of matching up with user’s query.It depends on the user’s query .May be a deeper page with unique description meta tag is used as snippets.

8. Snippet :- Text displayed beneath the title of a corresponding webpage on the search results page of a search engine.A webpage summary or the part of content of the page that match the search keywords will be displayed.

9. ODP(Open Directory Project) :- The world’s largest volunteer run web directory .(A list of internet links collected on the large scale and then organized.)

10. Avoid for writing description :- Don’t write description that has no relation with content.

11. Don’t use only keywords in description

12. Copying and pasting whole content of webpage in description meta tag

13. Use unique description meta tags for each webpages.
